The driver's license

It is mandatory for a driver to hold a driver's license of the right class if he wants to drive in Canada.

If you are the holder of a driver's license from your country of origin, but not one of a province of Canada, you may use it for a period of 90 days starting from the date of your arrival. After that period has expired you must obtain one from the province you reside in.

In order to obtain a driver's license you must take a theory and actual driving tests. You will find many agencies offering to train you for both tests.

Telecommunication

You will find public telephones all over the Canadian territory, belonging to companies such as Bell Canada or AT&T. Cellular telephones are available at companies such as Fido, Telus, Rogers AT&T and Bell Mobilite.

You may obtain information about the different plans by contacting their offices.
